Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was established in 1964. It is one of the key training bases for doctoral students of CAS. At present, SIOM is the doctoral training center for 3 first-class disciplines, namely physics, optical engineering，material science and engineering. Now there are more than 200 graduatesupervisors (including 78 doctoral supenvisors), and over 670 students are currently pursuing masters degreesand doctoral degrees.
