Prof. ZHU Jianqiang from SIOM was named OSA 2020 Fellow

This November, The Optical Society of America(OSA) announced the list of 2020 fellows. Prof. ZHU Jianqiang from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, was selected.

Since 1916, OSA has been the world’s leading champion for optics and photonics, uniting and educating scientists, engineers, educators, technicians and business leaders worldwide to foster and promote technical and professional development.OSA Fellows are members who have served with distinction in the advancement of optics and photonics.

“Being named an OSA Fellow is a singular honor and indicates a history of achievement in optics and photonics, and a reputation for service to OSA and our field,” said OSA President Ursula Gibson.

Prof. ZHU has persistently engaged in an extensive research in high-power laser system and the related fields, which include laser device design, optical precision machinery design, optical manufacturing process, advanced optical testing technology, optical beam propagation and control, etc. He made significant contributions to technical progress on high power laser facilities in China.
