On December 7th, Prof. Dug Young Kim from Yonsei University, South Korea visited SIOM for an academic exchange. He made a report entitled “Digital holography and functional imaging techniques for the next-generation microscopy” to employees and graduate students of SIOM. This report was hosted by Prof. LIU Cheng from Joint Laboratory on High Power Laser and Physics.
In his report, Prof. Dug Young Kim introduced the interferometric 3D imaging and presented the latest research progress in quantitative phase microscopy, digital holographic microscopy, lensless imaging and self-interference incoherent digital holography (SIDH). Following these, the fluorescence lifetime imaging microscopy (FLIM) and its important applications in temperature, pH and specific ion concentration measurements were also displayed.
In the past ten years, Prof. Dug Young Kim has published more than 100 academic articles of digital holography and related fields in classic magazines such as Optics Letters, Optics Express, Biomedical Optics Express, etc. As one of the most influential research teams in the field of digital holography, his team has obtained rich research results with new methods and theories.
