On 18-21 November, the first Cross-Strait Conference on Gallium Oxide and Related Materials and Devices (CSGO 2017) was held in Shanghai. This conference was hosted by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), organized by the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM, CAS), and No. 46 Research Institute, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation.
Co-chaired by Prof. Hao Yue from Xi'an University of Electronic Science and Technology and Prof. Li Yanrong from University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, the conference contained 51 reports, including 3 plenary presentations, 29 invited talks, 9 oral reports and 10 posters and attracted more than 80 experts and scholars from both sides.
Prof. Zhang Long, deputy director of the Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics, hosted the opening ceremony. Following the opening speeches by Prof. Shao Jianda and Prof. Zhang Shoujin were brilliant reports by scientists on the research progress of gallium oxide materials and devices. Meanwhile, the crystal growth of gallium oxide materials, the preparation of the film and the related devices were also hot topics among young scientists.
Aiming to provide a platform for academic exchange and promote research collaboration for both sides, CSGO 2017 contributed to establish a series of academic symposiums on Gallium Oxide across the Taiwan Straits.
