On March 21, 2014, Dr. Philippe MARTIN, Director of the Interaction, Dynamics and Lasers Laboratory of CEA Saclay, Scientific Director of the International Center on the Extreme Light, France paid a visit to SIOM. Prof. Ruxin Li, Director of SIOM presided over Martin’s seminar at SIOM.

During his visit, Dr. Philippe MARTIN delivered a presentation entitled by “Some Aspects of Relativistic Optics Using Ultra-Intense Laser Pulses”. He reviewed Relativistic Regime in overdense plasma using UHC and UHI pulses, Flat surfaces: plasma mirrors HHG/Atto-light house/ions, and Surface manipulations HHG/ions.

Since 1989, Dr. Philippe MARTIN is a researcher at CEA Saclay.  During the period of 2000 to 2002, he is the head of  “Interaction-Laser-Solids”group at CEA-Ecole Polytechnique. During the period of 2003 to 2013, he is the head of “Physics at High Intensity” group at CEA-Saclay. Since 2011, he is the Scientific director of the International Center on the Extreme Light – France. Since 2013, he is the head of Interactions, Dynamics and Lasers Laboratory, CEA Saclay.
