Martin Richardson, professor from University of Central Florida，paid a visit to SIOM，CAS and gave an academic report on September 16, 2010. Prof. Li Ruxin, director of SIOM, presided over the symposium. Prof. Leng Yuxin, Liang Xiaoyan and researchers of relevant research fields attended the symposium and listened to the report.

　  At the symposium, both sides spread out thorough deliberate communication with respect to the report. Afterwards, Prof. Martin Richardson visited the State Key Laboratory of High Field Laser Physics, the National Laboratory for High Power Laser Physics and the Key Laboratory for Quantum Optics of CAS accompanied by the researchers of each laboratory.
