A delegation of five members from Hangdong Global University(HGU), Korea paid a visit to Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics(SIOM), Chinese Academy of Science(CAS) on August 18, 2010. Prof. Li Ruxin, director of SIOM, and Prof. Young Gil Kim, president of HGU, signed a five-year memorandum of understanding (MoU) on behalf of both sides.

　　On the signing ceremony, Prof. Young Gil Kim gave a brief introduction on HGU’s missions, international cooperation, education and research structure. He also emphasized HGU’s intension to cooperate with SIOM. After the signing ceremony, the delegation visited the State Key Laboratory of High Field Laser Physics and the National Laboratory on High Power Laser Physics at SIOM.

　　The MoU will provide more opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation between Institute of Laser Technology of HGU and SIOM in the fields of research and education.
