Nobel Laureate, Prof. John Lewis Hall visited our institute

   On October 30, 2009Nobel Laureate, Prof. John Lewis Hall with his wife visited our institute.

   Prof. John Lewis Hall is a scientist emeritus of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Quantum Physics Division and a fellow of JILA, a joint institute of NIST and the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 2005, he shared the Nobel Prize in Physics with T.W. H?nsch and Roy Glauber for "contributions to the development of laser-based precision spectroscopy, including the optical frequency comb technique."

   In our institute, Prof. Hall gave us the presentation entitled by “Optical Comb”. The director of our institute, Prof. Ruxin Li presided over his presentation. After the presentation, Prof. Hall, accompanying by Director Ruxin Li and Academician Yuzhu Wang, visited the Key Laboratory for Quantum Optics.
