On January 22, a delegation consists of Shen Xiaoming, the deputy mayor of Shanghai, Weng Tiehui, the deputy secretary-general of Shanghai, Shou Ziqi, the director of Shanghai science and technology commission, and Niu Xiaoming, the chief engineer of Shanghai science and technology commission et al. , accompanied by Sun Jiwei, the district director of Jiading and Zhu Zhiyuan, the deputy dean of Chinese Acadamy of Sciences (CAS) Shanghai Branch, visited Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanism, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIOM) and Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Engineering physics (ASIPP) and expressed their greetings to the scientific researchers for the Spring Festival.

　 Firstly, Deputy mayor Shen et al. visited some researchers of SIOM and ASIPP and had a friendly discussion with them. They also listened to the reports of the current progress of the research work and important special projects of the two institutes.

　 Then, accompanied by Zhang weiyan, the deputy dean of China Academy of Engineering Physics, Zhu Jianqiang, the director of SIOM, and Li Ruxin, the secretary of the party committee of SIOM, they visited the Joint Laboratory for High Power Laser Physics, the Novel Laser Technique and Application System Laboratory, and State Key Laboratory of High Field Laser Physics. During the visit, they listened to the brief introduction and development plans of the laboratories. And the running and escalation of the SG series laser drivers and the prophase research and preparation work for the important special projects were also introduced to them by Director Zhu.

　 Deputy mayor Shen shows a great concern to the important special projects and highly evaluated the corresponding research work. He thanks to all the researchers for their great contributions to science and technology of Shanghai, as well as of China and hopes that the institutes would make progress continuously and more contribution in the future.
