In order to enhance the understanding and exchange of technological innovation and achievement transformation on laser and optoelectronics, the science and technology innovation and technology transfer delegation of Hong Kong Visited Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM, CAS) on Oct. 16, 2008. Members of the delegation included Mr. Sun-wing Lui, the Vice-Chancellor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Prof. Jintai Chen and Hanqi Zeng from the Chinese University of Hong Kong; Mr. Liu Jie, deputy director and associate professor Jia You from the Transfer Center of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

   Mr. Rurong Zhu, vice-Director of SIOM, warmly welcomed the guests. Also attending the meeting included Mr. Qihong Lou, a researcher of Advanced laser technology and applications laboratory; Mr. Hongbin Qian, General Manager of Hengyi Company; Mr. Long Zhang, deputy director of High-power laser module technology and development center; Mr. Qu Wei, deputy director of Integrated Office, and other staff.

   Mr. Zhu introduced the scientific research and technology transfer of SIOM to the delegation. And then, they discussed about the share of intellectual property, technology transfer and other issues of common interest. The delegation visited the Joint Laboratory for high Power Laser Physics and the State Key Laboratory of High Intensity Optics.
