CAS vice-president, Zhan Wenlong, BBR (Breau of basic research) director, Li Ding and vice-director Liu Minghua a companied by vice-president Zhu Zhiyuan of CAS Shanghai Branch inspected SIOM on February 20, 2008.

   SIOM director, Zhu Jianqiang, Vice Director Li Ruxin, vice-director Zhu Rurong, vice Party secretary Wang Dingbao, Academician Xu Zhizhan and Wang Yuzhu , and Assistant director Chen Weibiao attended the meeting. Director Zhu Jianqiang made the on SIOM, achievements in large facility scientific research and basic research.

   Later, vice-president Zhan visited the joint laboratory for high power laser physics, the national laboratory for high power laser physics, the key laboratory for quantum optics of CAS and the novel laser technique and application system laboratory.

   Zhan wenlong valued highly on Shenguang research, high intensity optics, quantum optics and space laser. He said :”the SIOM has powerful strength in optical fundamental research field, the work is thorough and meticulous. Especially the production of the big science device is prominent, and its development momentum is good. I hope you keep striving to meet the coutry’s requirement and make significant contributions for the development of laser and optoelectronics investigation.”
