Laser altimeter is a power tools to measure the topography of moon surface. CE-1 laser altimeter is the first laser active remote sensing device in China. The laser source is a home-made all solid-state laser with the wavelength of 1064 nm and the energy of 150 mJ, and it is run at a repetition rate of 1 Hz. It will be implemented for more than one year, and the first high resolution digital elevation model of lunar polar area will be gotten.
