For a single shot, SG-II UP ns laser can deliver eight laser beams with pulse energy to 40 kJ/3 ns/1 ω, 24 kJ/3 ns/3 ω. SG-II PW facility can deliver petawatt laser pulses of kilojoules in several picoseconds duration with a contrast 10⁸:1 and focused intensity 10²⁰W/cm², serving as an active diagnostics beam and booster beam for inertial fusion energy (IFE) researches. SG-II 5PW facility has reached 1.76 PW with pulse width 21fs in prior two phases servicing for experiments.
