Neodymium phosphate laser glass is a key optical element for high-power laser facility, which is used to generate laser or amplify the laser energy. It is usually cladded using copper doped glass to suppress the amplified stimulated emission. Pot melting technology and continuous melting technology have been developed and thousands of Nd:phosphate laser glasses with size of 810mm×460mm×40mm have been used in SG series laser facilities.
