Abstract:

Dispersive-mirror-based laser permits a dramatic simplification of high-power femto- and atto - second systems and affords promise for their advancement to shorter pulse durations, higher peak powers, and higher average powers with user-friendly systems. The result of a continuously development of dispersive mirrors permits compression of pulse down to sub single circle pulse of duration of sub-2 fs. Both design approaches and existing modern deposition technology open way to manufacture dielectric multilayer coatings able to compress tens of picoseconds pulses down to duration of a few femtoseconds.
