Abstract:

Nano-Optics deals with interaction between the light and matter at nanometric scale. In this talk I will present the recent development and argument in nano-optics that is of my concern, such as the diffraction of nano-slit and nano-hole; radiation of the so-called quasi-cylindrical waves; scattering and trapping of nano-rods, biological cells and anisotropic nano-particles with the T-matrix and Maxwell stress tensor, and the vector Gaussian beam with high order corrections to model the highly focused laser beam.
