Research Interest
Prof. Fan has been engaged in the research and operation of large-scale laser devices for a long time and has participated in the development of a series of high-power neodymium glass laser systems. As the outstanding member of the overall technical group who presided over the project, he had achieved a series of internationally advanced innovations in the overall design and engineering development of laser systems, theories and applications of beam transmission, and the interaction between strong lasers and matter.
In recent years, Prof. Fan had been engaged in the development strategy research, overall technical route and key technology, innovation research of high-energy lasers and ultra-short and super-intense lasers, as well as the research and application of global (amplitude, phase, polarization, and frequency) optical field control regarding the application requirements of inertial confinement fusion and high-energy-density physics.
